About Solira Studio

Intro

Solira Studio is my instructional design and learning technology practice. I work with organizations where learning must function within real constraints - regulatory requirements, operational complexity, formal documentation standards, and the realities of how people actually learn and apply information in their roles.

My work focuses on creating learning that is clear, consistent, and defensible, while remaining practical and usable in day-to-day operations.

How I approach this work

Learning is often treated as a content problem, when in practice it is a systems problem. Training has to align with requirements, integrate with existing processes, and remain coherent as organizations change. I approach learning design as part of a broader ecosystem - considering content, systems, records, and governance together rather than in isolation.

Design decisions are made with attention to how learning will be delivered, supported, reviewed, and relied upon over time.

Working with professionals

The work is grounded in an understanding that people in professional roles bring prior experience, established practices, and real constraints to the learning process. Training competes with operational demands, time pressures, and accountability for outcomes, which means learning must be relevant, respectful, and immediately applicable to be effective.

I design learning with attention to how professionals engage with new information - building on what they already know, clarifying expectations, and reducing unnecessary friction. The goal is not to oversimplify complex topics, but to present them in ways that support understanding, confidence, and practical use in real work contexts.

Experience and perspective

My background includes work in regulated and high-stakes environments where training quality, consistency, and traceability matter. This includes learning developed to support compliance, technical, and operational roles, system-based delviery, and learning infrastructure that must hold up under scrutiny.

The same design principles also apply in broader learning and development initiatives - such as reskilling, upskilling, capability development and role transitions - where clarity and applicability remain critical, even when formal regulation is not the primary driver.

What clients can expect

Clients can expect a thoughtful, structured approach grounded in their specific context. I work collaboratively to understand organizational constraints, existing systems, and expectations, and to design learning solutions that are practical, coherent, and maintainable over time.

The goal is not to introduce unnecessary complexity, but to support learning that can be clearly understood, applied with confidence, and relied upon when it matters.

Part of this work involves understanding the underlying problem training is intended to address. In some cases, learning is the appropriate response. In others, gaps may be better resolved through changes to process, documentation, or system design. I work with clients to clarify expectations early and to recommend an approach that genuinely supports the outcome they are trying to achieve, rather than defaulting to training as a solution.

Solira Studio works best with organizations that value clarity, care about how learning holds up over time, and recognize the role learning plays in supporting safe, consistent and effective work.
